Kid-Friendly Travel food Hacks
It seems like you may have come across our page while searching for Kid-Friendly Travel Food Hacks for families traveling with babies, toddlers, and kids, particularly regarding their dietary needs. We understand the challenges of catering to fussy eaters while traveling. During our first overseas trip to Bali, we faced many concerns. To ease your worries, we compiled essential information about suitable foods, and buffet breakfast offerings at the hotels we have stayed in. This guide will help ensure your little ones enjoy nourishing meals throughout your travels.

Our Top Tips
We are excited to share a collection of hacks we’ve discovered to enhance your holiday experience. These tips will make your trip more enjoyable and hassle-free.
Milk tips
During our time in Vanuatu, we learned a clever strategy that would have helped us on our overseas trip to third world countries with Hailey. The resort charged extra for milk when ordering for our baby. To avoid this expense, we filled a bottle from the breakfast buffet instead, Of course the resort did not mind.
Water tips
Bringing your own refillable water bottles can save money, especially in places where bottled water is expensive. Ask for a glass of water in the morning and fill your bottles. This simple approach keeps your family hydrated without breaking the bank. On our recent trip to El Nido, Philippines, the hotel staff were very understanding when we did this for Hailey.

Lunch box for snacks
I recommend purchasing a leak-proof lunch container before your family travels. We use this lunch box strategy during buffet breakfasts. It’s immensely helpful later in the day when we enjoy snacks saved from the morning meal. This proactive approach saves time and money. You can find the leak-proof lunch box right here through this link from our Amazon storefront: Leak-proof lunch box/ 3 storage divider

Milk options for kid-friendly travel
Traveling to a third-world country like Bali from Australia can pose challenges in finding suitable milk options for babies. In Bali, you’ll find long-life milk, either locally produced or imported. Alternatives such as goat’s milk, almond milk, coconut milk, and cow’s milk are also available.
If your baby is on formula, bring a full container to ensure you have a familiar option. Not all formulas may agree with your baby’s tummy. While there is a supermarket in Bali with various options, being prepared is best. You can bring formula through customs without issues.
Kid-Friendly Food Options
Dining overseas with a baby or toddler often raises concerns. However, Bali, Vietnam and the tourist destinations in the Philippines, offer a great selection of high-quality food options. The variety has expanded over the years. Locals are accommodating regarding specific requests, such as overcooking meals for your little one. Hailey, who is a curious eater, has developed a fondness for local dishes like chicken satay and nasi goreng (fried rice).
I’m really glad we have travelled with her at such a young age, I truely believe this had helped with her being an outgoing eater and will try everything before saying no.
Packaged baby food can be costly, with small jars priced between $3 and $8.50 AUD. When breakfast buffets are unavailable, we make Hailey toast with Vegemite (which we bring in our checked baggage) — a satisfying alternative she enjoys. A combination of hot water, bananas, oats, milk, and yogurt also works well.

I’m truly grateful that we began traveling with Hailey at such a young age. This experience has significantly contributed to her becoming an adventurous eater who is willing to try new foods before making a decision. It’s wonderful to see how early exposure to different cultures and cuisines has shaped her palate.
